DreamHost Company Overview – 2009
Founded in 1997 by 4 Computer Science undergraduates at hmc.edu in Claremont, CA, DreamHost has happily been hosting its clients dreams and websites. Dream Host started off on a single pentium 2 processor machine but has quickly grown to host over 1500 servers and 800,000 different websites. Today, DreamHost is also one of the few all green web hosting providers on the internet.
DreamHost is a web hosting company owned by the employees. Dream Host runs its ship a little differently than the popular web hosting companies of today. DreamHost is a tightly nit group of employees that have been working together since the start of the company.

Types of hosting services offered
- Unlimited Shared Web Hosting – Dream host overs shared web hosting plans with unlimited disk space and unlimited data transfer starting at under $6.00/m
- VPS Hosting – Should your website exceed the CPU and RAM limits on their unlimited shared plans, they allow you to guarantee RAM and CPU to your account so that you can continue to use the service. All you do is pay a scalable fee for more RAM and CPU + the $6.00/m shared hosting fee.
