GoDaddy is virtual a house hold name as of 2009. They should just add it to the dictionary.

If you haven’t heard of Godaddy by now, you need to get out from under that rock you’ve been living in. I mean with all those SuperBowl ads and cable tv commercials, Godaddy is definitely one of the most well known names in the internet website provider industry.

But is their hosting service any good?

They got so many different services ranging from domain name registration, web hosting, virtual servers, dedicated servers, and SSL Certificates. However, their domain registration service is what is most widely known throughout the world.

Let’s review their hosting service:

Shared Hosting – They have pretty reasonable plans(both Linux or Windows) starting out at $4.25/month for 10GB Disk Space and 300GB of bandwidth. I also see that they have just recently added the magical unlimited disk space and bandwidth plan starting at $12.74/m.

Virtual Dedicated – I heard they are trying to beef up their image in this market. They have some really nice offers for semi dedicated servers which I think are also very reasonable offers. Your virtual server is guaranteed 256MB of server RAM and is burstable up to 1GB on either a Linux or Windows server of your choice. Dedicated Servers at GoDaddy.com

Dedicated Servers – I didn’t realize Godaddy had such ridiculous dedicated server offers. They have Pentium 3.0GHz machines allowed 500Gb of bandwidth for a flat out $79.99/m. All I can say is I will probably be getting me one of those in the future. GoDaddy.com Virtual Dedicated Hosting

Web.com, an internet service provider, was founded during, what I like to call, the dawn of the web hosting age on 1999. Web.com is one of the very few hosting companies listed on Nasdaq – Others include Network Solutions, Enom, and Godaddy.

Since its creation, users have created over 15 million successful websites with their website building tool. This is one fact that I can say no other hosting company can compare with.

Lets take a look at the services they offer:

They offer a ridiculous amount of services – from web design, to marketing, to web hosting – they can provide you everything you need to start and run a successful website. If you have no experience with websites, no problem. They will fully manage every aspect of a web site – however it does come at a price.

They currently offer 2 types of web hosting services:

Shared Hosting -They offer your typical unlimited disk space and bandwidth web hosting plans – They have both Linux and Windows servers you can choose from. While I have seen many a good reviews of web.com, I am still highly skeptical of any web host that offers unlimited anything. Because of this, I highly recommend you always keep backups of your website, and have a plan in action just in case they decide to suspend you one day. E-Commerce Hosting - Their ecommerce plans are very expensive – start @ $59.95/m. If you want an all in one solution – AKA are a newbie – this plan will definitely provide everything you need. That said, if you actually know what you are doing, than do yourself a favor and buy a cheaper plan and setup all the ecommerce stuff on your own – this will save you a lot of money. Email Servers – If you have your own in house email servers that are costing you a fortune, their Microsoft Exchange email servers can really save you a whole lot of cash. Starting at $8.95/m, this is nothing compared to the hundreds/m businesses end up paying to have their own in house email.
