WebsiteSource Hosting Reviews. A recent 2009 review.
WebsiteSource Web Hosting Reviews. 2009 reviews by current and prior customers.
Hello All,
Welcome back to my web hosting company review blog. Today, I am going to review WebsiteSource. This is one company that I am writing a review about that I actually like.
Right off the bat, you will notice this company is not your typical ‘blind you with thousands of gigs of disk space and bandwidth for a few dollars a month’ hosting provider. WebsiteSource is a serious company and it is reflected in their hosting plans and prices.
If you want a high quality web hosting provider, Website Source is probably one of the best options hands down.
Founded in 1998, these guys have been a powerful played in the hosting industry. They offer a whole boat load of services inlcuding:
- Shared Web Hosting – Starting at $6.97 for 25GB of disk space and 50GB of bandwidth. As you can tell, they aren’t your typical unlimited everything host.
- VPS/Private Servers – WebsiteSource has a whole line of VPS services. These mini servers start at $30/m and provide 10GB of disk space and 300GB of transfer. They guarantee 2GB burstable bandwidth to your server as well as dedicated 512MB of server RAM to your account.
- Dedicated Servers – They offer your typical line of dedicated servers at about average industry standard prices. The one thing I don’t like about their dedicated servers is you have to complete a credit card authorization form before they activate it. This can be a pain in the butt sometimes.
- Reseller Plans - They are some real top of the line Plesk reseller hosting plans. They are more expensive than the competition, but just remember, you get what you pay for.
Overall, WebsiteSource is a company I am glad to write a review on. In fact, this is one of the few companies I refer people to that need a specific hosting solution. Definitely a good host is you need high availability, high quality web hosting space.

Gosh, I think you need to take another look at this company. They have taken a major downhill turn and now rate at the bottom of my list of providers. Of all the hosting companies I have used over the years I have never had an experience that ranked anywhere near the one with Websitesource.
I was a customer for 7 years and all was mostly well until about a year ago. Their errant server tweaks crippled my website frequently. The worst part, and most disappointing, is that their tech assistance went from bad to worse and is virutally non-existant these days. After two “cookbook” email responses from them, they simply ignored my requests for help and left me stranded with a website I could no longer update. I read elsewhere that this company was sold a while back and I think this might explain the 1000% change to poor quality service and performance. I cannot recommend this company. Please beware.

I am in 100% agreement with Pat, above. Things were acceptable until about a year ago…my site would be down sometimes as long as a week at a time and they would lose my email/orders very consistently. Tech support is now non existent.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been with them for over 4 years now and first of all, if you call, they don’t answer in any department-billing, sales or tech support. Then if you submit a ticket it might be the next day or never before you hear back. And lastly, they encourage you to use their live chat, but I’ve only been able to get someone throught there twice. I called their billing department about a billing question and the lady was really rude. Now at the bottom of their emails they are telling people not to even use their live chat anymore due the high volume of calls. They are asking people to submit a ticket, but good luck to get an answer back. My site seems to be consistently down and I have too lost my order emails. I would never recommmend this company.
